Privacy Policy valid for the OBB beta version
Last updated: 9 August 2026
This policy applies to the open beta of OmniBandBridge (“OBB”, “we”, “us”). The beta is built fully local-first: your data stays on your device and, if you choose, in your own cloud storage (e.g. Google Drive). We do not store your data on our servers.
Data processed on your device
Section titled “Data processed on your device”- Workouts & metrics — cadence, pace, stride, running/metabolic power, heart rate, footpod and treadmill data — are recorded and stored locally on your device. You can export them (TCX / CSV / FIT) or upload them to services you connect (intervals.icu, Strava, Health Connect, Google Drive).
- Auth key — the key obtained when pairing with Mi Fitness is stored only on your device and used solely to communicate with your Mi Band. It is never sent to us.
- AI Journal — the optional local server runs on your device over your LAN; data is shared only with the AI model you configure. Nothing goes to our servers.
Health & fitness data (Health Connect)
Section titled “Health & fitness data (Health Connect)”If you enable it, OBB integrates with Android Health Connect to read and write health and fitness data on your device:
- Read (to personalize the metabolic-power model and workout metrics): weight, height, resting heart rate, heart rate, VO₂ max.
- Write (to save your recorded workouts): exercise sessions, distance, total calories burned, steps, heart rate.
This data is processed locally, under your control, only to provide the app’s features. We do not transmit your Health Connect data to our servers, and we never use health or fitness data for advertising or share it with third parties for advertising. You can revoke Health Connect access at any time in Health Connect settings, and OBB’s use of Health Connect complies with the Health Connect Permissions policy, limited to the permissions listed above.
Location data
Section titled “Location data”If you use outdoor (GPS) activities, OBB uses your device’s location only while the activity is running to compute speed, distance and route. Location is used on your device for the workout recording and is not sent to our servers or used for advertising. OBB does not request background location. On older Android versions (API ≤ 30) the location permission is also required by the system for Bluetooth scanning; OBB does not derive your location from Bluetooth.
No accounts in the beta
Section titled “No accounts in the beta”The beta does not let you create an account and does not offer in-app purchases or subscriptions. Because there is no account, there is no account to delete and we hold no personal account data about you on our servers. We do not operate a Merchant of Record or a user database for the beta.
Third-party services
Section titled “Third-party services”Only the services you explicitly choose to use apply: Google Play (distribution), and any service you connect (intervals.icu, Strava, Google Health Connect, Google Drive). Each has its own privacy policy.
Ads & analytics
Section titled “Ads & analytics”The beta contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs. We do not build advertising profiles from your data.
To understand how OBB is used and improve it, the app sends minimal, anonymous first-party usage statistics to our own backend (Supabase). We collect:
- a random install identifier (a UUID the app generates on your device — not a device ID, advertising ID, phone number or hardware serial; it resets if you reinstall or clear the app’s data);
- the app version, your device model and Android version;
- how many times the app is launched, and the type and model name of the bands/devices you use with OBB (e.g. “Mi Band 10”, “Venu 3S”).
We do not collect any personal data, account, contacts, location, or your training/health data through analytics, and we do not share this data with third parties. It is used only to count installations and understand aggregate usage.
You can turn this off at any time in Settings → App → “Anonymous usage statistics”. When it is off, the app sends nothing.
Kill-switch (beta expiry)
Section titled “Kill-switch (beta expiry)”To keep testers on a current build, the beta periodically checks a remote endpoint to learn whether it has expired. This request sends only the app’s build version number and does not include any personal or health data.
Data retention & deletion
Section titled “Data retention & deletion”All your training data is local. To delete it, clear the app’s storage or uninstall OBB. Files you exported yourself (TCX / CSV / FIT) or uploaded to services you connected (Google Drive, intervals.icu, Strava, Health Connect) are managed by those services — delete them there.
For the anonymous usage analytics (see above), turn the switch off in Settings → App to stop collection, or email support@omnibandbridge.com to request deletion of your install’s records (see the Account & Data Deletion page).
Your rights
Section titled “Your rights”Depending on your region (e.g. GDPR), you may have rights over your personal data. Since the beta holds no personal data on our servers, most requests concern data on your own device or in services you connected. For any question, contact us below.
Children
Section titled “Children”OBB is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country) and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes to this policy
Section titled “Changes to this policy”We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected here with a new “Last updated” date.
